Welcome

This very special event features a camp environment that is truly unique: student dancers and serious student musicians learning together to create an experience of unparalleled energy and creativity. Top notch musicians and instructors, spontaneous afternoon jams, and all-night music against a beautiful mountain setting with room and board available on campus. Come see why many people make Augusta's Swing Week their priority Lindy Hop event of the year!

Instructors

This year's fantastic lineup features Joel & Allison Plys (CA) and Michael Gamble & Jaya Dorf (NC). Classes will be divided into two experience levels, and each group will also produce a final performance piece. Class will meet for two 1.5 hour sessions a day, with plenty of downtime given for meals, social time, jams, and dancing!

Music

The presence of so many talented musicians is the defining element that makes this event so unique for dancers. Master instructors at the top of their field will be leading music classes and also leading the evening bands that will be the backbone of your social dance experience. During the day (and sometimes late at night) student jams will facilitate a perpetual backdrop of inspiration.

Room and Board

All housing will be in the Davis & Elkins College dorms, and meals will be served buffet-style in the cafetera. So what do you do when absolutely all of your creature comforts are taken care of? Relax, and devote your energy to having a great time! A week at Augusta's Swing Week may just give you a glimpse of what your dancing could be under the best possible conditions.

Joel and Allison
