Week 4
Bluegrass Week
Bluegrass Harmony Singing (Level 2)

Laurie Lewis & Tom Rozum

This class is geared toward people who can already sing in tune and still carry an independent melody line while someone else is singing a different harmony part.

We will explore the great bluegrass singers. We’ll learn what it is that makes them so great, and see if we can apply some of their tricks to our own singing. We'll work on phrasing, timing, and tone production in both lead and harmony singing while covering duet and trio harmony concepts. In small groups, we'll work on blending our voices to get that much-coveted "sibling" sound. We'll work on breathing and breath support.

We'll also work on learning to find the right key for any particular song, and going from "chest" to "head" voice and back again. There will be time to trouble-shoot individual songs that might be giving you problems.
