The dance teachers and I thought it would be nice for ALL of the dance students to get a chance to work with ALL of the dance teachers, at least a little bit during the week.  -WB

Joel and Alison will share with you their vast knowledge of the social dances of the Swing Era with a focus on the Balboa and 1920s Blues.

As the dancers of New York’s Savoy Ballroom were Lindy Hoppin’ the dancers of Southern California were swinging with the Balboa. This smooth, closely connected dance was a favorite at the Rendezvous Ballroom on the Balboa Peninsula. Danced to the up-tempo tunes of the era’s favorite bands, the Balboa is sure to win you over. Joel and Alison have studied the dance with some of the original Balboa dancers of the time and will be delighted to teach you the fundamentals of this awesome swing dance.

Joel and Alison will also share their knowledge of 1920s Blues. They will share with you the basics and other figures as you enjoy the sounds of 20s era Blues.
