Experience the thrill of forming metal into useful and ornamental objects. Beginners learn how to use the forge, hammer, and anvil. More advanced students receive individual guidance in designing projects. Students learn to draw out metal to make ornamental forms and to make their own blacksmithing tools, such as tongs. Included are discussions on shop and forge setup, safety, and demonstrations of advanced techniques. Lab and materials fee: $50. This class will accommodate all levels. Minimum age: 16.
