John Hollandsworth, maker of custom Blue Ridge autoharps, incorporates both chromatic and diatonic styles into his Appalachian old-time and Celtic playing. He has taught and performed at many festivals and clinics across the U.S. and in England. John was the first winner of the prestigious Mountain Laurel Autoharp Competition and has been named "Best Performer" of the Galax Fiddlers Convention three times – the only autoharp player ever to win this distinction. John performs and has recorded four CDs, both as a duo with wife Kathie and with the band Mountain Fling, and he can be heard on two anthology recordings of outstanding autoharp players. He performs in the Virginia/North Carolina region with Mountain Fling and with his wife’s band, Katie & The Bubbatones.
