Johnny “Ringo” McDonagh (Bodhrán) introduced the bodhrán to the world-at-large, touring with the Irish supergroup DeDannan from 1975-1983. His rhythms drive traditional Celtic music like no one else. Ringo was the first to develop the modern rim shot on the Irish drum and the first to play the bodhrán with a brush.
