Wayne Henderson

Wayne Henderson lives in a remote area of the Blue Ridge and makes acoustic guitars with amazing tone. He uses an alternating thumbpick-and-fingerpick style to achieve amazing speed and fluidity. His technique transforms fiddle and banjo pieces and even the occasional jazz standard into stunning guitar solos that rival the clarity and depth of any flat-picker. Wayne was awarded a National Heritage Fellowship in 1995 and has won over 300 ribbons at many festivals and conventions including the prestigious Galax event 12 times!
