Ernie
Scarbrough was born
in Detroit and first began playing music at the age of 3. His first instrument
was the piano, then drums, then guitar. Ernie started playing bass in the high
school jazz band, just to find something else to do. He found his “inner
groove” and has since spent most of his professional life as a bass player.
Currently
living and teaching in Los Angeles, Ernie has had the pleasure of playing a wide
variety of venues all over the country, including Cozy’s in L.A., the
Mississippi Valley Blues Festival and the Heritage Music Blues Fest, sharing the
stage with the likes of Rich DelGrosso, Gary Allegretto, Pinetop Perkins, and
Bob Margolin.
As a
teacher, Ernie has a relaxed teaching style that fits any student, from beginner
to advanced. You will enjoy working with Ernie to find your own “inner groove.”
