Beginning Bluegrass Fiddle
Andrew Van Norstrand

Andrew Van Norstrand shows an astonishing command of six instruments and a well-developed intuition for several musical genres. Currently performing with Molly Mason & Jay Ungar, he’s already become a fiddle legend at just barely twenty. Andrew’s repertoire combines elements of the Irish, French Canadian, Appalachian, Bluegrass, Swing, Scandinavian, Jazz and Gypsy fiddle traditions with his own original compositions. He was awarded a Folk Arts Apprenticeship from the New York State Council on the Arts and has taught at many Ashokan Dance Camps. Andrew, and his eighteen-year-old brother, Noah, recently electrified the airwaves on Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion.”  www.vfiddle.com
