Missy Raines

2007 IBMA Bass Player Of  The Year, Missy Raines, has won that most-coveted award a record-setting seven times—making her the second woman to have won an IBMA instrumentalist award and the only one ever to repeat the achievement. She’s also earned multiple Grammy nominations. Raised in Short Gap, WV, Missy joined the progressive Cloud Valley as a teenager. After an eight-year-stint with bluegrass Hall Of Fame member, Eddie Adcock, she joined the Claire Lynch Band. Missy soon formed a groundbreaking duo with guitarist Jim Hurst. She’s recorded with Claire Lynch, Kenny Baker, Josh Graves, Jesse McReynolds, Mac Wiseman, Josh Williams, Bill Evans and Alison Brown. Missy has taught at music camps and workshops around the country and in 2005 formed her own eclectic acoustic ensemble, Missy Raines And The New Hip.  www.missyraines.com
