Bobby Hicks


A five-time Grammy winner, recipient of three gold albums, one platinum album and eight IBMA awards, Bobby Hicks is a veteran of five decades with some of the finest bands in bluegrass. He reached national prominence touring with Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys from 1954 to 1959. In the 1960's and 70's he performed with various country-and-western bands. In the 1980’s and ‘90s Bobby was the featured fiddler on all six of the legendary Bluegrass Album Band recordings with Tony Rice, J.D. Crowe, and Doyle Lawson.  For the next two decades he played with Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder and Jesse McReynolds and the Virginia Boys.  He has recently made guest appearances with banjo legend Earl Scruggs.   www.bobbyhicks.com
